Edmond "Lett" Lee was born on June 28, 1914 to Robert Eatman & Sarah Ingram-Lee.  At first the
paternity of this conception was kept a secret, due to the circumstance.  Sarah Lee was married
to Johnny Nick Lee and had ten children.  According to my uncles, my grandfather always knew
who his father was.  When his children were growing up he told his children that his name
should have been Edmond Eatman.   However, he did not go into detail, nor did he answer his
children's questions.  Another reason he didn't like to talk about it was that my grandmother's
grandfather was an Eatman.  He always thought that he might be related to his wife, even though
they weren't.  My grandfather died on September 19, 1971, taking this secret to the grave.
Edmond's oldest sister, Mattie Ellen, felt that this secret should be told.  Before she died in 1982,
she revealed his father's name, as well as one of his uncles, who was Abner "Abb" Javine.

Robert Eatman was a mulatto born in 1860 to Henderson Eatman & Nelly Eatman.
